Come party with us to celebrate the launch of the 17th Annual Junction Arts Festival. The Juried Art Exhibit and the Red Hot Art Spots open their doors from 7pm to 9pm. Visit the galleries and then drop by the Junction City Square for the announcement of the Juried Art Exhibit winners and opening remarks from our special guest speakers.
Completing this catered event is the big band sound of the Starlight Orchestra, one of Canada's top big bands playing everything from Bublé to the Andrew sisters.
The opening party takes place on the Junction City Square at Dundas West and Pacific. Mix and mingle, listen to the great music and enjoy our cash bar and oyster bar.
Oyster Bar provided by Kristy Hollidge of The Troubadour Bar.
Anthony Terpstra has led Starlight Orchestra since 1988, making it Toronto's longest running professional big band. Our focus has always been that of playing for dancing and entertainment, rather than that of a concert jazz band. Our Juno nominated recordings include Come Fly With Me, Timeless and Timeless 2 with Colin Hunter, A Lot of Livin' To Do with George St. Kitts, Starlight Orchestra Live at the Palais Royale 1 and 2, Live at Stage West and Live in Hamilton.
Anthony Terpstra is the music director and arranger for Rick Sonata, the Rat Pack, John Morello's Dean Martin Tribute, the George St. Kitts Sammy Davis show, James Glanville, the Marilyn Monroe Show, the Brian Roman show and a Tribute to Judy Garland. Our Vocal trio, the Starlettes will be our next recording project.
